Biography
Prof. Akim O. OSUNDE is Professor of Soil Science in the Department of Soil Science and Land Management, Federal University of Technology, Minna. He joined the services of the University in 1989 as an academic staff after obtaining a PhD in Agronomy (Soil Fertility) from the University of Agriculture & Forestry, Vienna, Austria. Since then, he has been contributing to the production of high level manpower in Agriculture, particularly in Agronomy and Soil Science, through teaching and thesis supervision. As a researcher, Prof. Osunde has been actively involved in providing the much needed research background for the local use of Biological Nitrogen Fixation (BNF) by grain, green-manure and tree legumes as a low-input technology for the management of degraded soils, enhancing food production by Nigerian resource-poor farmers and improving their livelihood.
