Biography
Engr. Dr Uzoma Gregory Okoro is Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Federal University of Technology, Minna. He holds a BEng (FUT Minna), an MSc in Mechanical Design (NUAA, China; 2006, 2011) and a PhD in Risk and Reliability Modelling of Offshore Energy Structures (Cranfield University, UK; 2017). Before joining FUT Minna in 2012 he was Maintenance & Safety Manager at Alpha Plus Ltd. As a research assistant at the Centre for Offshore Renewable Energy he developed an operational strategy for marine energy converters and a multi‑criteria risk assessment for offshore jacket platforms. He has secured multiple international and national grants, supervised undergraduate and postgraduate theses, and authored 30+ peer‑reviewed papers. Research interests: failure risk assessment, safety benchmarking, regulatory compliance, plant design and life‑cycle management, and advanced manufacturing. Registered engineer; member, IET (UK) and Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria. Core
