Dr. Emmanuel Tanko Umaru

Holds a B. Tech in Urban and Regional Planning, and an M. Sc in Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife. He has a PhD in Urban and Regional planning. He had an academic work experience during his NYSC as a Graduate Assistance in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, O.A.U Ile-Ife, between year 2001-2002; He worked with Town Planning division, Department of Works, Chikun Local Government Kujama, Kaduna State from 2002-2007. In 2005 he worked as an Area Demarcation Officer, in the preparation for Census 2006, in Kauru, Kaura, Zangon Kataf, Chikun and Kachia, Local Government respectively. He served as Coordinator, Census 2006, for Chikun Local Government of Kaduna State. He then joined the services of FUT Minna as Lecturer II, in 2007, and rose to the rank of Associate Professor the currently the Deputy Director West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land use Climate Change and Human Habitat (WASCAL, CC & HH). He is a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) and Town Planners
Registration Council of Nigeria (TOPREC). His area of interest includes Urban health, Migration, Climate Change and Spatial Modelling.
