FADIPE, Labake Ajoke (nee Phillips) B.Sc (Chemistry, 1990; ABU); M.Sc. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry, 1995; ABU); Ph.D (Pharmaceutial Chemistry, 2016; ABU). She joined the services of Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, Nigeria on 17th October, 1996 as an Assistant Lecturer in Department of Chemistry and rose through the ranks to become a Professor (2023). She is currently the Head of Department, a position she has occupied since March, 2021. She teaches and supervises organic- and natural products- chemistry related courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Her research area covers isolation, characterization and biological testing of bioactive compounds from a wide range of ethnomedicinally useful medicinal plants using various chromatographic, separation, purification and spectroscopic techniques. She has about 50 national and international scholarly journal publications to her credit and has attended some national and international conferences. She is a manuscript reviewer to some national and international journals, such as; Food Process Engineering (Web of Science), Tropical Journal of Natural Products Research (TJNPR), European Journal of Medicinal Plants (EJMP) etc. Labake is an international Board member and Nigerian Team Leader of International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) and International Young Physicist Tournament (IYPT). She is a Resource Person to Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Abuja and FCT Administration, Department of Science and Technology, Abuja, Nigeria. Her hobbies includes, making friends, reading novels and autobiographies, watching films and learning entrepreneurial skills.
