UMAR SULEIMAN DAUDA has more than 18 years of expertise in the academic and development sectors. At the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria, where he is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, he focuses on encouraging morals, communication, and authenticity in his students in addition to his other obligatory duties of giving lectures, creating instructional materials, and conducting research. Additionally, he exhorted youth all around the nation to speak out on concepts that will challenge people to think differently and outside the box. Engr. Dr. Umar Suleiman Dauda received his B.Eng. degree from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, Nigeria, in 2002 in the Department of Electrical/Computer Engineering and the M.Eng. degree from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi State, Nigeria, in 2011, in Electrical Engineering. He completed his PhD (Electrical Engineering) with the Department of Communication, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2018. From 2016 to February 2018, he was a member of the Advanced Telecommunication Technology Research Group at UTM Malaysia. Dr. Dauda is a registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). Umar Suleiman Dauda has undertaken the Competency-based Economies through the Formation of Entrepreneurs (CEFE) Train the Trainers (ToT) Programme with GIZ in 2010 and was certified. He has been taking Entrepreneurship courses in the Department and Faculty since 2011. He is an active trainer, working with the University Entrepreneurship Center to facilitate training organized by the GOPA and GIZ. Dr. Dauda loves working with Computer hardware and software packages.

Research Area

Antenna design, distributed beamforming, signal estimation, digital signal processing, wireless sensor network, software defined radio and software defined network.
