Professor John Olusanya Jacob is a Chartered Chemist, a member of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON) and a Fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN). He was one time General Secretary of the Chemical Society of Nigeria, Niger State Chapter.

Professor John Olusanya Jacob had also won several research grants, which include, Federal Scholarship Board grant for postgraduate research, Education Trust Fund (ETF) grant, World Bank/STEP-B Innovator of Tomorrow Award, TETFund-IBR grant and TETFund National Research Fund. His area of research is Environmental Toxicology.             

Professor John Olusanya Jacob had worked with various organizations, practicing Chemistry. He joined the services of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, in 2005, as Lecturer II, and rose through the ranks to become a Professor of Chemistry in 2019. He had served the University in various capacities. He had supervised and graduated numerous B. Tech. students, as well as M. Tech. and PhD students. He is a Reviewer to many national and international journals, and External Examiner to other universities. He has numerous national and international journal publications to his credit. He was the pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Science, Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Kogi State.

Professor John Olusanya Jacob is happily married with children.
