OMALE, Gloria Eneh’s Profile         

Academic Qualifications: BSc. M.A PhD in View: Gloria Eneh Omale had her BSc (Hons.) Second Class Upper Division in Mass Communication from Benue State University Makurdi, Benue State in 2007 and her Masters in Mass Communication and Theatre Arts (with PhD grade) from University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State, in 2015. Her PhD is in view. She is a Lecturer in the Department of Information Science and Media Studies, School of Information and Communication Technology, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State.

Teaching and Supervision Experience: She has a very rich teaching and supervision experiences at a private secondary school and versatile in print and broadcasting. She had worked with NTA Damaturu in Yobe State, FRCN in Ikoyi Lagos, The Sun Newspaper and Vanguard Newspaper all in Lagos State Nigeria respectively before joining Federal University of Technology, Minna in 2011. Since 2011 till date, she has taught over 15 courses at the undergraduate level and supervised over 35 undergraduate students.

Administrative Responsibilities: She has served in various capacities such as Students Level Adviser. Member Departmental and School board meeting, staff welfare. She has served at various committees at the Departmental, School and University level.

Publications (Journals, Conference attendance, Books or Chapters in Book, etc) She is a seasoned scholar who has published over 17 articles in journals of repute at the international, national and local levels. She has attended and presented papers in conferences at various levels. She has chapters in books.

External Linkages (Reviewer, Editor, Accreditation, Visiting Lecturing, Keynote/Guest speakership etc): She has functioned as guest speaker, instructor/facilitator at both live and virtual seminars respectively such as Girls in ICT Day. A Public lecture for young Girls in Minna titled “Expand Horizon, Change Attitude”, Guest Speaker ‘Dare To Be’. International Women’s Day. Organized by Women Techmaker Minna & Cloud Minna to mark the 2023 International Women’s Day. Guest Speaker ‘Women in ICT’, Sponsored by Google Developers Groups at the Devfest Minna 2022 held at Shiroro Road Minna, Niger State. Seminar on Positive Attitude: Key to Successful Career in Teaching and Learning. At Brighter School Minna. Seminar on Classroom Management and Emotional Intelligence. At Brighter School Minna. And a host of others.

Areas of Research and interest/Hobbies: Her areas of interest include: Media Research, Broadcasting/Digital Media, Health communication and Development Communication. Her hobbies include: Public speaking, reading, research and cooking. Any form of humanitarian services gives her great joy to do.
