Dr. Simeon Meshack Imologie

Meshack Imologie Simeon is a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Agricultural and Bioresource Engineering (ABE), Federal University of Technology, Minna. He earned his PhD in Process Biotechnology from the University of Bayreuth, Germany, after completing his masters degree in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Simeon also earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) in ABE from the Federal University of Technology, Mina, and a National Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Auchi Polytechnic.

Since joining Federal University of Technology, Simeon has been actively involved in teaching and research, including supervising student projects and administrative duties. He has served as a student advisor at various levels, as well as SIWES coordinator and department web administrator. During his doctoral studies, he was actively involved in co-supervising student projects, including bachelors and masters theses.

Simeon was awarded the ABE Departments Best Graduate Student Award (2010) and received the prestigious Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) (2018). In addition to presenting many technical papers in seminars and conferences, Simeon has authored and reviewed numerous research articles in top-tier journals. His research has been featured in many scientific news including the University of Bayreuth press release (No. 205/2022, December 20, 2022) and the Bavaria Research news.

He has a broad range of experience in environmental engineering. His current research focuses on the optimization of microbial fuel cells for bioenergy production, waste treatment, and bioremediation, including microbial community dynamics accompanying microbial metabolism in biofuels. His hobbies include music and travel.
