I am currently an Associate Professor, the Head, Department of Horticulture and the immediate past Deputy Director, Directorate of Collaboration, Affiliation and Linkages of Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, Nigeria. I hold a PhD Crop Production (Seed Science), MTech Agronomy, B Agric Tech Honours (Second Class Upper Division ) and National Diploma in Agricultural Technology (Upper Credit grade) from the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, Nigeria and Niger State College of Agriculture Mokwa, Nigeria. I have received specialist training on Biological Control for biological control of plant parasitic nematodes for sustainable Agriculture in Nigeria (2008). I am also a trained Organic Horticulturist and an erudite Seed Scientist. Some of my research findings have been presented at National and International Conferences. I am a member and the Financial Secretary of Association of Seed Scientists of Nigeria (ASSN), member and Coordinator, North Central States of Nigeria for the Horticultural Society of Nigeria (HORTSON), and member of Biotechnology Society of Nigeria (BSN). In 2013, I won a grant by The Niger State Environmental Protection Agency (NISEPA) to conduct a research on the Influence of organic waste on vegetable performance and healthy livelihood in Minna Niger state, Nigeria. The project was successfully executed in collaboration with NISEPA and Federal University of Technology, Minna. I was nominated by The National Seed Council of Nigeria in 2014 to participate in National Seed Retreat in Nigeria. I held various positions in the University amongst which are: Assistant Faculty exam Officer (2012-2016), Faculty Exam Officer (2016-2018), Director, Directorate for Collaboration, Affiliation and Linkages (2018-2020, Member Board of Advancement Federal University of Technology, Minna, Member representing The University Council on Board of Centre for Open, Distance and E Learning (CODel), Member Board of Directors, FUT Micro Finance Bank and Member, Steering Committee on One Programme one Product Initiative (OPOP) of FUT Minna and currently the pioneer Head, Department of Horticulture of The Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, Nigeria (2020-Date). My research area encompasses Mother-plant studies of Horticultural crops for optimum vigour and yield and Seed Quality Testing of crop species. I am responsible for teaching (1) Fundamentals of Horticulture, (2) Horticultural Structures and Equipments, (3) Vegetable Production, (4) Seed Production, Handling and Testing, (5) Advanced Seed Production and Handling, (6) Advanced Vegetable Production and (7) Advanced Seed Storage and Testing courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I have supervised a number of B Agric Tech, MTech and PhD students.
